Commander's Corner

Hello,

I'm 2D Lt. Boris Sarmiento of the California Aerospace Composite Squadron 802.

Welcome to the Civil Air Patrol.

A brief description as to who I am and my Goals as the Commander of 802.

Brief: I joined in 2014 as a Cadet in 802. I happen to hear about Civil air Patrol when I went to the California Capital Air Show and I saw people around my age wearing the old uniform called the "BDU's" (Battle Dress Uniform). I was in Air Force JROTC in my High School and one of my instructors happen to be a part of 802. So right then on I joined in and decided to stay for the rest of my 9 years. I made it to the Grade of C/Chief master Sergeant, Grade 2 in Squadron 802. I happen to transfer my title as Cadet to Senior Member in the Civil Air Patrol. I still have dedicated my time to volunteer as an active member for the last couple years. As of right now I am currently a Service Member in the United States Armed Forces.

Goals: The current goal is to grow, become future leaders, and conduct Aerospace Education. To lead and to train. The Mission is always first.

Imagine the possibilities the Cadets, (Your Children/Students), becoming leaders in the future to train and mentor others to achieve a common goal or practice. These Cadets at one time or many times can and will come to your rescue just as local rescue teams help find missing people in the mountain or provide aid/relief stations to natural disaster cities.

Becoming influential in the arts of Public Affairs, a Rising Leader who can manage a business or company, Aerospace Engineers, future Service Member/Non-Commissioned Officer/Warrant Officer/Officer in the Armed Forces, or anything you could imagine. The goal has always been in my eyes something we would all like to achieve. That very small chance of hope that disappears and reappears every so often. The knowledge you gain in Civil Air Patrol can be used in the outside world to achieve the goals in mind.
